Fourteen years ago, we introduced specialty coffee to Egypt.

Today, the coffee in this bag carries everything we've learned since.

 

In 2012, Joseph Hannah — born and raised in Egypt — and Johanna Freeman, who had made Egypt her home since 2000, founded Dancing Bean with a very specific idea about what coffee could be.

 

Single origins, careful sourcing, precision-focused roasting, cupping scores, and honest flavour profiles were almost entirely absent from the Egyptian market. That was about to change.

 

It took a few years for the market to catch up.

 

Thirteen years later: multiple Golden Bean Awards. Egypt's No. 1 voted specialty roaster. The same roastery. The same standard. The same belief that a carefully sourced, precision roasted cup of coffee is one of the most honest things you can offer another person.
